OK, just jotting down everything from my head. So in case if you haven't noticed, a lot of my news posts are difficult to read b/c I don't take the time to edit grammar as I do w/ the official site pages, etc.
After the crash bugs are fixed, I can begin work on stats/items.
Races/classes are already implemented btw. Base stats should take about a day.
I believe we have a basic spritesheet in the works thanks to SailorClef. Character customization will be coming shortly after the spritesheets.
Dumping the chatroom w/ swords idea.
Implemented signs.
Began rethinking scripting engine. NPC's will be available after spritesheets are done. NPC's that talk to you and give you quests that is.
I really want the spritesheets done ASAP just for the sake of creating NPC's and maps. The tiles aren't a huge problem now since I just rip them from other games (don't worry, we'll replace them later!).
I think I stated before that I'm not the one doing the maps. I'd rather just design the engine. I want to play the game too...so I don't want to know every little detail to help me become the top player. I might make a few maps still though. Anyhow, from what I've been told, there should be a lot of secrets in the alpha maps. NPC's will complement this since they can hint at secrets, assign quests, etc. There should be a forest maze and several towns. I really need to get items done too, so one can only purchase specific items in specific towns >.<.
What I want to do is assign a person to perhaps 50-100 maps each. That way, each designer will know some of the world's secrets and where to go, but will still have a game to play. Of course, there's the people that just want to design everything :\. If you're interested in a mapping job, just say so since I'll be opening those up as soon as the next alpha is released.
And to be honest, I can finish all of the above within a month's time if my schedule weren't so packed all the time >.<.
